Talenia – Dental Hygienist
Talenia has been a dental hygienist for almost 10 years. Her interest in dental hygiene was rooted in childhood during her early years in Vietnam. It saddened her to witness many people including herself and family members suffering from the lack of dental care and dental health awareness. Now, with the knowledge, training, skills, and passion for helping others, Talenia has turned her childhood dreams into reality.
Talenia earned her Dental Hygiene degree from the Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2009. In 2010, she advanced her practice by obtaining licensure in the administration of local anesthesia from the Harrisburg Area Community College. In December of 2016, Talenia joined our team at Bowser Dentistry as a temporary employee to assist with hygiene patients. A few months after, she became a permanent addition to our practice and Bowser Dentistry became her second home.
Talenia is married to her husband, Phong, and has two lovely children, Davin and Heidi. Outside of work, Talenia enjoys cooking, shopping, bowling, playing tennis, traveling and most of all spending time with her family.
Nikki – Dental Hygienist
Nikki is born and raised in York County. She became interested in dentistry in high school while shadowing at her dentist’s office. She graduated from Allegany Community College in Maryland in 1991 with her Associates degree in Dental Hygiene. Nikki finds dentistry interesting because it allows her to establish a rapport with patients and build lasting relationships. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, playing golf with her husband Doug, or going to her children’s sporting events.
Alisha – Dental Hygienist
Alisha has worked in the dental field for 20 years. She first worked as a dental assistant and graduated from Penn College in 2000 as a dental hygienist. Alisha joined the Bowser team in 2016. Her hobbies include gardening, cooking, horses and spending time outdoors with her husband and animals.
Beth – Dental Hygienist
Beth has been working in the dental field since 1978. She worked for 11 years as a dental assistant and in 1989 moved into dental hygiene. Beth has been a member of the Bowser Team since 1996. She enjoys hiking, cooking and reading.
Heather – Dental Assistant
Heather graduated from Harrisburg Area Community College in 2008 with certification in Dental Assisting and Expanded Function Dental Assisting. Her interest in dentistry was generated by listening and watching her mother (our assistant Becky). Heather joined Bowser Dentistry in 2003. Her hobbies include kayaking, golfing, baking, gardening, and spending time with her husband and 2 sons.
Becky – Dental Assistant
Becky has been a dental assistant at Bowser Dentistry since 1984. Working in dentistry has allowed her time to raise her family and now enjoy her grandchildren. In her free time she enjoys decorating, cooking and working on her golf game.
Karen – Dental Assistant
Karen assisted in a dental office 2 years before graduating from York Vo-Tech’s dental assisting program in 1971. She started her career with Dr. Rizzo prior to Dr. Johnessee who joined the team shortly after her. Karen has worked her entire career from that point on with Dr. J and now with the Bowsers. This has given Karen 40+ years of experience assisting! Outside of work, Karen spends her time with her son Shane, gardening, cooking, and exercising if she can.
Dodi – Dental Assistant
Dodi has been working in the dental field since 1990. She joined Bowser Dentistry in May of 2018. During her time off, she enjoys spending time with her family and going hunting.
Melanie – Dental Assistant
Melanie has been working in the dental field for 28 years. She is Certified by the State of Pennsylvania in Radiology, is a member of the American Dental Assistant’s Association and the Pennsylvania Dental Assistant’s Association. In 2008 Melanie completed the Expanded Function Dental Assisting Program at Harrisburg Community College. In her spare time, Melanie enjoys reading, cooking and trapshooting.
Ally – Business Office Administrator
Ally graduated from YTI Careen Institute in February 2009 with a diploma in dental assisting. She also has been certified by the state of Pennsylvania in radiology. She first joined the Bowser Team during an externship for YTI at the end of 2008 and joined the team with a permanent position soon after she graduated. Ally has since moved into office administration but still uses her assisting skills on a regular basis. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and dogs hiking, kayaking and camping.
Tiffany – Business Office Administrator
Tiffany started working in the dental field as an assistant in 1995. She has a certificate in dental assisting from York County School of Technology and is Pennsylvania certified in Radiology. Her interest in dentistry started when she was a patient for a friend who was in dental hygiene school. In 2005 she joined the Bowser Team. Her knowledge of the clinical side of dentistry is a valuable asset in the administration office. In addition to her everyday administrative duties, Tiffany handles a large portion of patient check-in and scheduling. Tiffany enjoys shopping, travelling and spending time with her family.
Belinda – Dental Assistant/OSHA-HIPAA Coordinator
Belinda has been working in the dental field since 1986. She earned her certificate in dental assisting in 1986 from the Lancaster County School of Technology and is certified by the State of Pennsylvania in Radiology. As Belinda’s enthusiasm grew for dentistry, she enrolled at Harrisburg Community College and completed the Expanded Functions Dental Assistant program in 2002. She is a member of the American Dental Assistant’s Association and the Pennsylvania Dental Assistants Association. She and her husband, Shane, live in Red Lion with their daughter.
Lisa – Business Office Administrator
Lisa has lived in York all of her life and has worked in dentistry since 1985. She has an accounting degree from YBI and earned her Certified Dental Practice Management Associates degree in 2000. Her primary focus is patient accounts, insurance management and administrative responsibilities. Lisa enjoys leisure time kayaking, cooking, gardening and reading. She and her husband Paul have 2 grown children and are parents to “Kali”, their German Shepherd.
Mimi – Office Manager
Mimi received her BS in accounting and statistics from Juniata College. She worked in hospital statistics, public accounting, and was the practice bookkeeper before becoming an official team member as an office manager in 1991. Mimi’s interests include tennis, golf, reading, swimming and boating. She is thrilled to be working so closely with her husband and sons.
